Rookie sessions for first-year campers ages 7–10
Horseback Riding Major
Additional cost: $1,450
Our horseback riding major is limited to 15 campers and fills up quickly. With roots going back to 1913, Windridge's riding program offers campers a rich classical English experience across a range of disciplines — from show jumping and dressage to trail riding through the beautiful Vermont mountains. Campers don't just ride; they learn stable management, animal behavior, and the daily care of their horses, building a genuine connection with the animals they work with. With three outdoor rings, an indoor arena, and miles of cross-country trails, there's room to grow at every level — and our staff works with each camper individually to build confidence and skill at their own pace.
Golf Major
Additional cost: $150
Golf major spots fill fast — only 16 campers per session are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Campers travel five minutes down the road to Northfield Country Club for three periods of instruction and supervised play each day, split into morning and afternoon groups of eight. To qualify, campers should have at least a year of experience and a basic grasp of the fundamentals and rules of the game. Campers 10 and under are required to complete a golf elective first to establish their readiness for the major.
Private Tennis Lesson Packages
Twosome package: $160 · Unlimited: $80/lesson
For campers looking to accelerate their game, private lessons offer focused, one-on-one time with our tennis staff. Each 45-minute session is tailored to the individual player — working on specific areas of their game in a way that group instruction simply can't replicate. The twosome package includes two lessons, while the unlimited package allows campers to book up to one private lesson per day for as many days as they'd like throughout their session.
