CIT Application
Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is open to returning campers who will be 16 years old by August 31st and are ready to make the transition from camper to counselor. CITs spend half of each day as campers, playing their sport and enjoying everything camp has to offer, and the other half learning what it takes to lead. They take part in small group leadership sessions, help coach one of our majors under staff supervision, and live in cabins with younger campers, with regular counselors providing staff coverage. Along the way, CITs take on some of the most memorable traditions of the summer. They set up Carnival and run its concessions, choose the session banquet theme and decorate the dining hall, run canteen, help with evening activities, and have a hand in planning their own CIT day off. It’s a chance to give back to the camp that has meant so much to them, while building confidence and skills that last well beyond the summer. REQUIREMENTS
- A strong desire to become a counselor.
- Must be 16 by August 31st and entering 11th grade (US) this coming fall.
- All CITs must attend at least one session, and we encourage you to attend two if possible.
- Parents must complete the regular Camper Application online through CampInTouch.
- CITs must submit the completed CIT application below.
- Send a one page essay on why you will be a great Counselor-in-Training.
- Send a letter of reference from someone outside your family (employer, teacher, coach, etc.).
