Comparison Table: Windridge Majors
Tennis
Our flagship major, and open to every level from first-time players to seasoned competitors. With a 1:4 instructor ratio across 21 courts of red clay and HarTru, campers get real coaching in fundamentals, match play, and strategy. The competitive side runs deep: a challenge ladder, individual and doubles tournaments, private-lesson options, and inter-club matches. Tennis runs two periods a day, and committed players can double major. Enrollment is unlimited.
Soccer
A team sport through and through, perfect for kids who thrive on shared goals and friendly competition. The major is split into upper and lower camp so play stays age-appropriate, with a focus on both technical and tactical skills. Campers compete on two regulation fields and close out every session with an intra-camp tournament. The soccer major is two periods a day and enrollment is unlimited.
Horseback Riding
Classical English riding with a heritage dating back to 1913, ideal for animal lovers ready to build real skill. Campers learn show jumping, trail riding, and horse care across two grass rings, a sand ring, and an indoor ring, with a 22-stall barn on campus. The riding major spans two periods a day and is limited to 30 campers per session, so early enrollment is wise. An additional fee applies.
Golf
A major for experienced players who can keep up with the pace of play at the Northfield Country Club. Campers head off-camp to this nine-hole course just five minutes down the road for supervised play with an instructor at a 1:4 staff-to-camper ratio. Groups of eight go out (one in the morning, one in the afternoon) for three periods each. Golf majors must be 11 or older; younger players can join once they're evaluated by our golf counselor and show they're ready for the major's level. An additional fee applies, and the major is limited to 16 campers per session. Beginners are welcome to sample golf as an elective first, which takes place on camp.
Not sure which major to choose?
There isn't a wrong answer. Campers spend their mornings immersed in one major while enjoying a wide range of electives each afternoon. The best choice is simply the activity your child is most excited to pursue.
